Ohio-based metalcore act The Devil Wears Prada are embarking on another UK tour this year in October in support of their new album Dead Throne. Metal Hammer spoke to singer Mike Hranica about touring, their love for the UK and what fans can expect at the shows.
This time around the guys are joining August Burns Red and Whitechapel for all UK dates. “With August Burns Red headlining, we have a shorter set and less production than last time in the UK. To me this just means going particularly raw and hard,” says Mike.
So what’s touring in TDWP like? The singer lists his five essentials as “Books, ample amount of garb, coffee, computer and vitamin C. Any time I get sick, it’s pretty miserable. With certain tours I’ve had my voice break down, and that makes for a bad time.”
Of their relationship with the UK and British fans, Mike says: “We’re a bit overdue as far as spending sufficient time across the Atlantic, so we’re making sure to come over and play more frequently. We definitely enjoy shows in the UK. London and Manchester have consistently been standout places… Not to say that other cities are less than adequate, but those are two places that have killed it for us since we first came over in 2008.” So make ‘em feel welcome, OK guys?
